Dr. Julie Kim is a passionate and dedicated physician with dual board certifications in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She is one of a select group of 8,263 Obesity Medicine Specialists in North America (as of 2023), and she is committed to providing you with the highest quality of care.
Dr. Kim is a graduate of Rush University Medical Center and a member of multiple organizations, such as The Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), the Illinois Obesity Society (IOS), the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Chicago Medical Society (CMS).
Licensed to practice in both Illinois and Wisconsin, she remains committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Obesity Medicine.
For over a decade, Dr. Kim focused on managing complex medical issues for hospitalized patients. During this time, she saw many patients struggling with unhealthy weight and the serious consequences that can occur without proper education and guidance.
Within the last decade, she noticed a concerning trend within healthcare, with patients experiencing shorter office visits, lack of patient education, and recurrent hospitalizations, while incurring rising healthcare costs. Additionally, many physicians overlooked, under-treated, or did not recognize obesity as a chronic medical condition, which resulted in devastating long-term consequences.
Dr. Kim recognized the critical lack of current healthcare providers who prioritize patients struggling with obesity. As a board-certified Obesity Medicine Specialist, she understands that patients with obesity suffer from a complex, multifactorial, chronic, and relapsing medical condition that is treatable and preventable.
This led her to pursue her life’s calling; providing comprehensive care for these patients while being a lifelong advocate for those struggling with their weight. She is committed to filling a gap that is sorely missing within our current healthcare system and is excited to work alongside you!
Bianca, a registered nurse, is a proud graduate of the State University of Northern Negros and an experienced healthcare virtual assistant, brings both clinical expertise and exceptional patient support to every visit.

She is passionate about helping patients feel confident throughout their journey.
